Research

Where do I start?

In order to start you first have to know who you are, where you are and where you want to go; which is why we always start with the: “Standard for Review”.  Once we have completed the initial research necessary to use the “Standard for Review”, we are prepared to follow the chain of authority that will ultimately unlock understanding of any relationship.  Discovering the truth about many relationships requires quite a bit of personal firsthand study of history, law, circumstances and possibly contracts; therefore, before you begin, you will want to make sure that you prepare your inner game (your mindset/attitude).  Respectively, we highly recommend that you read: The Slight Edge, by Jeff Olson.  We recommend that book because it is likely to give you a head start on learning how to succeed at acquiring the knowledge you desire; and, use that knowledge to enhance what you do with it.  We also suggest that you join our “Success Network”; it’s free; yet, it has the potential to get you going with a head start in almost any endeavor you may pursue.

We don’t know your situation, your skill level or where you want to go from here; so, beyond recommend that you read: The Slight Edge, we cannot tell you how to start.  What we can tell you is when our Trustee found himself in the middle of a legal battle (the first time) surrounded with a significant attack from what he thought was our government, he discovered how foolishly ignorant and ill prepared he was.  In such a situation, the First Rule of Success is, “Find and model excellence” (see our Rules for Success).  Therefore, he contacted people with a track record of success in court and asked them how to proceed. They said, “The first thing you should do is get a copy of the most current accepted Law Dictionary available” (at that time, Black's Law Dictionary, Sixth Edition today it’s Black's Law Dictionary, Ninth Edition).  Some people say to get the oldest Dictionary, but modeling excellence says that you have to understand the terms of the Art of Law in their current common usage.  His models said, ”Start by looking up every word and phrase in any legal document that was used to instigate the proceeding, then follow through until you have so studied the meaning of every document related to the case.  When we say ‘look up every word and phrase’ we mean just that—including: ‘and’, ‘the’, ‘then’, ‘shall’ and every other word.  Even if you think you already understand the meaning of the words in common usage, look them up in the law dictionary because you may be surprised at the differences in the meaning in law.”  They further instructed not to just look up the words but to follow any links I found in the definitions.  For example, if you look up “Certificate of Title”, in Black’s 6th, you will find an almost circular definition that gives you no real information, but it says, “see Title Insurance”.  So we lookup Title Insurance and find the section on “Certificates of Title” and we discover that by definition a “Certificate of Title” is “Title Insurance”.  Anyway, this was a good start for our Trustee.

Team Law is an excellent source for material because we do our homework, still we caution you that you should never simply believe us or anyone else simply because something you hear sounds good.  The Second Rule of success is, “Be sure you’re right and then take Action’.  Proper preparation insures your actions are right the first time and eliminates the need to redo work.  Repetition is only the mother of skill when you repeatedly do it right.  To be sure you are right it is always wise to confirm all information from at least two or three competent sources before acting upon it.  The Third Rule of success is, “DOn’t quIT”.  Never wait for someone else to pave your way, if you need something done, do it.  Prepare your way, be sure you are right, then do it and endure through the end.

One of our nation’s biggest problems today is that too many people see that there is something that needs to be done but they won’t do anything to discover what it is and if they do discover the truth they wait for someone else to pave the way to the solution to the problem.  We need to develop a society of people that understand how to get to the truth and how to lawfully maintain our rights and property without limiting others from the same.  Where do we start?  We start at the beginning.  For most people, that may be by discovering our true history, for others that will be studying to learn how to survive or prevent a legal attack against them, for still others that will be general studies and support.  Whatever your situation is, we welcome you to the beginning of your relationship with Team Law and we hope to have a long and beneficial relationship that results in our winning our nation back.  One thing we are certain of is that our moral character will have far more effect on our results than the individual studies we accomplish.  Time will prove that our honor in living the principles taught in our foundational Law (Torah and the Bible) will win the day.  If we are not living such honorable lives then the place to start will be to repent by aligning our lives with that foundation and then begin spreading the word to develop a society honorably based on that foundation.  We welcome you to the journey.

Recommended Tools.

When people call us for document reviews we always tell them to use a recording device and record the call so we do not have to repeat ourselves.  Such recordings are always copyrighted by Team Law and are made and allowed for that person’s benefit only.  By recording the call they can focus their attention to listening to, and participating in, the call because they know the recording will allow them to repeatedly review and take notes later.  The devices we like best for making such recordings are shown here:

If you do not have a specific case you are working on then a good place to start can be studying law and its terms or art from the basis of the time when the legislation was generated.  In such a study, having a law dictionary from the period is far very helpful to understanding the “legislative intent” behind the law.  In the case of our national Constitution the proper Dictionary is Bouvier's Law Dictionary, which Congress ruled "the Dictionary of the Constitution".

Bouvier's is the first American law dictionary. The only dictionary to use to properly interpret the Constitution. “Adapted to the Constitution and Laws of the United States of America, and of the Several States of the American Union; with References to the Civil and Other Systems of Foreign Law.” [First edition]. John Bouvier. Two volumes. 559; 628 pp., 1839. Reprinted 1993.

Law Books Recommended by Team Law:

The Slight Edge, by Jeff Olson.  We recommend this book as the place to start even though it is not a law book; because, it deals with the natural laws that cause success in any endeavor.  If you read and apply only this book, your life will be improved forever.  Having the skills you can develop from the use of this book, you can master your study of law and life.

Black’s Law Dictionary, Ninth Edition, the most popular and current standard for law dictionaries and the use of terms used in the practice of law.

Bouvier's Law Dictionary, the dictionary the original jurisdiction Congress ruled was "the Dictionary of the Constitution".

Civil Rights & Civil Liberties Litigation: a guide to § 1983, by Sheldon H. Nahmod, in its current form is available from Thomson-West Publishers through this link.  This three volume set is excellent and continues to be the best resource for preparing cases, on the subject matter of U.S.C. Title 42 § 1983 civil rights violations, we know of.  This set is highly recommended and widely cited in federal and district civil rights actions, this extensive treatise contains a comprehensive discussion of Section 1983 cases and issues, examining procedure, substantive law, legal principles, and decisions.  Establishes the legal basis for claims through detailed research of the latest decisions and trends. Identifies and cites recent Supreme Court rulings, providing relevant cases for any Section 1983 issue.  Examining both the plaintiff's and defendant's viewpoint, this text helps you develop effective arguments, and set and recover fees and costs. Examines specific circuits and court opinions. Provides checklists, forms, and Tables of Cases, Statutes, Rules and Regulations.

Civil Rights & Civil Liberties Litigation: a guide to § 1983, by Sheldon H. Nahmod.  This link is for the same book presented above but it is sourced from Amazon's used book resources; therefore the books found here will likely have lesser costs and have less timely case sites related.  Still, much of what is presented in this vol. is almost timeless for its importance when studying the subject matter.  If you are involved in a current case and you can afford the price of the current version it is highly recommended.

False Arrest, Malicious Prosecution, and Police Misconduct : Pleadings and Practice

The Law, by Frederic Bastiat.  This is a classic book well worth the read, it remains a book that should be part of everyone's library.  You can read this one online at this link: The Law.

Prosecutorial Misconduct, by Bennett L. Gershman.  This book is well worth the price, it is excellent!

Dumbing Us Down: The Hidden Curriculum of Compulsory Schooling, by John Taylor Gatto. The Author was the most celebrated school teacher in the New York public education system; here, he exposes how the modern school system is used to make people stupid instead of to educate.

Other books recommended for fun and self-mastery:

Illusions — The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah, by: Richard Bach.  An excellent parable about how the world actually works; published as a beginner’s guide book to help people learn how to master control over the elements.

The Salesman and the Farmer, by J. Logan Arnold.  This book is also a self-mastery book that, when applied, will make everything else you do work better.  This book is a quick read that gives you an incredible working model to pilot from.  It is a perfect book to follow The Slight Edge.

Building an Empire, “The Most Complete Blueprint to Building a Massive NETWORK MARKETING BUSINESS”, by Brian Carruthers.  This book lives up to that title!  This book was so on-point and sufficiently complete for us to create (script) a simple yet effective system to give to each of the people we know in network marketing and when they follow this book/script their networked opportunity is launched into incredible Empire Building growth.  This is the best Network Marketing method book we have found to date.  By the time we read to pg. 65, we ordered 10 more of these books. We now use this book with our Success Network instead of a business card.

The Greatest Networker in the World, by John Milton Fogg.  This book is also written in the style of a novel that follows a man through the process of learning the most important self-mastery skills necessary to success in virtually any part of life that involves interfacing with other people.  As with the Salesman and the Farmer, when you apply the lessons learned in this parable, everything else you do will work better.  This book is a super quick read.  It is a perfect book to follow The Slight Edge.

The Go-Giver, by Bob Burg and John David Mann.  This is an excellent short story about a go-getter that learned what he was doing that was keeping him from success as he learned the characteristics that cause success to come to you.  When you finish reading The Slight Edge this book will help you on your way.

To Win or To Wiggle? by J. Logan Arnold; who followed his success with The Salesman and the Farmer by writing another book, also in story form; this one takes you on a sailing journey where lessons of life and success in virtually any venture become an elemental part.

Go Pro, by Eric Worre. In this book Eric Worre shares not only the “Aha” moment that changed his life forever, as he decided to Go Pro as Network Marketing expert, but the skills anyone can use to do the same.  This guide book shares Eric’s wisdom, ignites passion for this profession in a way that will and help you too make the decision to Go Pro and create the life of your dreams.

The Kingdom and The Crown, Vol. 1, Fishers of Men, by Gerald Lund.  A historical novel about the times and seasons of people who lived in Judea at the time of Christ.  This is an excellent series worthy of reading.  We could not put it down.

The Kingdom and The Crown, Vol. 2, Come Unto Me, by Gerald Lund.  A historical novel about the times and seasons of people who lived in Judea at the time of Christ.  This is an excellent series worthy of reading.

The Kingdom and The Crown, Vol. 3, Behold The Man, by Gerald Lund.  A historical novel about the times and seasons of people who lived in Judea at the time of Christ.  This is an excellent series worthy of reading.

John Adams, by: David McCullough.  Top notch presentation of John Adams.  The book brings the man to life.

1776, by: David McCullough.  Again, David hits the mark and brings history to life. A well recommended read.

Truman, by: David McCullough.  Top notch presentation of John Adams.  The book brings the man to life.

Prelude to Glory, Vol. 1, Our Sacred Honor, by: Ron Carter. This historical novel begins at the beginning of the War of Independence, when Great Britain attacks the United States at Lexington and Concord Massachusetts.

Prelude to Glory, Vol. 2, The Times That Try Men's Souls, by: Ron Carter.  This historical novel series spins an excellent story that directly involves you in the history and events surrounding the War of Independence.

Prelude to Glory, Vol. 3, To Decide Our Destiny, by: Ron Carter.  The only problem with this historical novel series is it is compelling enough to inspire the reader to read each book in the series.

Prelude to Glory, Vol. 4, The Hand of Providence, by: Ron Carter.  As with any such historical novels, each book must also stand on its own and therefore needs to do a bit of review at the beginning to update the reader.

Prelude to Glory, Vol. 5, A Cold Bleak Hill, by: Ron Carter.  Even though these books each review events that spawned each vol. the books themselves cover events well enough to stand alone with the history in them.

Prelude to Glory, Vol. 6, The World Turned Upside Down, by: Ron Carter.  A continuation of the series

Prelude to Glory: Vol. 7, The Impending Storm, by: Ron Carter.  The final book of the series.  We would not recommend such a historical novel series if we had not enjoyed it immensely.

Eddie Fantastic, by: Chris Heimerdinger.  This novel is just a fun read.  It is a good one for the whole family.

The Secret, by: Rhonda Byrne, a video that presents some principles right even though they think its a Secret. There is a lot more to it, especially when properly applied; after you view it, call us to learn the key to the rest of the story and what “The Secret” really is.

The Secret, the book, patterned after the video. There is a lot more to it, especially when properly applied; after you view it, call us to learn the key to the rest of the story and what “The Secret” really is.

Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill.  This is the timeless classic book that made Napoleon Hill’s career.  From the time this book was written most authors of books about developing wealth and personal mastery took something from this book to develop theirs.  This link takes you to the free to read copy on Google Books.

Just for fun for young readers:
